Former Bakersfield presenter Chris Burrous confirms cause and death

BAKERSFIELD, California – Chris Burrous, KTLA's beloved anchor and former Bakersfield presenter

Dead in December 2018

has died as a result of methamphetamine toxicity, confirmed Friday the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Coroner.

According to the coroner, Burrous was found unresponsive in a hotel in Glendale and, at the call of the authorities, was reportedly taken to a hospital where he was reportedly dead at 2:06 pm December 27th.

It was determined that Burrous had died of methamphetamine-related toxicity, other contributing factors being hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

The way of his death was an accident.

Burrous arrived in Bakersfield in 1999, where he worked as a presenter on the morning news program at KGET. It's there that he met his wife, Mai Do-Burrous.

Burrous joined KTLA in 2011 after more than 10 years as a reporter and presenter across the country.

He was 43 years old and his wife, Mai Do-Burrous, and his 9-year-old daughter, Isabella.
