It’s been a tough few months for a former Buffalo Bills fan favorite.
Early in the offseason, the Bills replaced alternate quarterback Matt Barkley with Mitchell Trubisky. Finally, Barkley had his chance.
The Tennessee Titans left DeShone Kizer and decided to throw Barkley into the mix. But it ended this week.
Barkley, who was fighting Logan Woodside to be Ryan Tannehill’s replacement, lost.
He was part, then out of, of the final roster of the Titans.
Here’s how our friends at Titans Wire broke Barkley against Woodside:
It was a pretty close race between the two, with neither really upset us. However, Woodside sealed the deal in Week 3 of the preseason after clearly outdoing Barkley against the Chicago Bears.
After Barkley was ultimately not on the Titans’ roster, it was reported that the team wanted him to return to their practice squad.
Eventually, he actually accepted this position.
Barkley was one of 13 players placed on Tennessee’s initial practice squad so far.
