"Devastated. I still have trouble believing it. Lew Fidler was a friend and a mentor. A voice of reason so rare in politics. His untimely death will leave a void that can not be filled. I can not believe he's gone. I think especially of his wife Robin and their children, Councilor Justin Brannan tweeted.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lew Fidler, a friend and former city councilor. Lew's wit and generosity were legendary and a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him. My sincere prayers go to his family ยป Councilor Chaim Deutsch. "South Brooklyn will never be the same again."
