When you own a pro wrestling promotion, and you bring that promotion to the birthplace of Far Philadelphia, and you have several legends that have built or gone through ECW on your payroll … what do you do? You bring them to the ring to close the show.

This is what Tony Khan did after AEW finished recording the October 8 edition of Carnage.

What if you’re CM Punk, which was first introduced to viewers around the world on the ECW version produced by WWE? You throw the party, make a joke about your run to the top of the sports entertainment version of this iconic ’90s brand, pay your own tribute to Chris Jericho, Taz, Dean Malenko and Jerry Lynn, and then put it on the limelight.

And while you wonder why former ECW Champion Vince McMahon didn’t make an appearance, here are the highlights from Carnage:

  • CM Punk puts unbeaten streak on the line against upstart Daniel Garcia
  • Could the acclaimed halt the momentum of the AEW Tag Team Champions?
