ATLANTA – Attorney General Obama, Eric Holder, said Thursday that he thought President Donald Trump had committed impenetrable offenses.
"There are grounds for impeachment" based on the report of the special advocate Robert Mueller, Holder told NBC News in an exclusive interview. "There is no doubt that the findings reported by Bob Mueller have been hampered by an obstruction of justice, in minute detail, and that in itself would be the basis of dismissal."
Registrant however hesitated to ask the House to begin the official work, claiming that legislators should first hear from Mr. Mueller, gather evidence and consult the unredacted report before making a "reasoned decision" as to the desirability of continuing the impeachment.
When asked if he thought the United States was in a constitutional crisis, Mr Holder replied: "Not yet," but "it is forming".
"I am concerned about the state of this country and how the Trump administration is responding to the legitimate demand of Congress," he said. "We could be in a constitutional crisis, but I do not think we're still here."
As the current Attorney General, William Barr, Holder himself has been found guilty of contempt of Congress during his tenure at the Department of Justice. But Holder pointed out that the two instances were not equivalent, calling them "fundamentally different".
"You compare what happened to me – it's related to the" Fast and Furious "case – we handed over 7,000 documents, we put people at the witness's disposal," Holder said, discussing the question for the first time in public. "Barr, as you know, and the Trump government put some kind of sentence saying," We will not give you anything. "And we were sensitive to Congress, they were not."
During the Fast and Furious Operation, the ATF authorized the sales of illegal firearms in order to locate them, thinking that they were the result of people linked to cartels of mexican drug.
