Former Louisville WR Jaylen Smith, Lamar's Partner for Workouts, Planned for Ravens Rookie Camp

Smith captured 13 Jackson touchdowns in 2016-17 in Louisville, and it would be interesting to see if their university chemistry on the field will be transferred to the NFL. Smith, who is 6-foot-2 and 219-pound, was a four-year-old for the Cardinals and finished ninth in the school's receptions (152) and sixth in receiving (2,505).

The first two of the Ravens' top three picks were big receivers, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown (first round) of Oklahoma and Miles Boykin (third round) of Notre Dame. But the Ravens are reorganizing their post after releasing Michael Crabtree and losing John Brown in attack on Buffalo. Smith may consider the Ravens as a place where he has a legitimate chance to compete for a spot in the lineup, and his connection to Jackson has made Baltimore a favorable destination for Smith.

The hurry to sign unengaged free agents began after the NFL draft ended on Saturday. Other non-manufactured players who would have gone to the Ravens include:

OLB Michael Onuoha, who had 14 sacks on a three-year career at Texas A & M-Commerce after leaving Oklahoma. Onuoha tweeted the news on his account.
