SPRINGDALE, Arkansas – The former University of Arkansas, the University of Michigan and NFL quarterback, Ryan Mallett, were arrested in northwestern Arkansas for driving while intoxicated.

Lt. Jeff Taylor of the Springdale Police Department said Mallett, 31, was arrested Tuesday following a collision between two vehicles. Taylor did not immediately return an appeal from the Associated Press on Wednesday to request details of the accident, and the police department records do not indicate whether Mallett is represented by a lawyer.

Mallett spent two seasons in Arkansas after being transferred from Michigan after one season. He was then selected for the third round by the New England Patriots in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Mallett spent seven seasons in the NFL with New England, Houston and Baltimore. He played 21 games in total, starting with eight – six for the Texans and two for the Ravens. He had nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
