Former NFL player, Cierre Wood, accused of murdering his girlfriend's 5-year-old daughter

LAS VEGAS – Cierre Wood, 28, has worked with the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans.

Now, however, he faces a charge of first-degree murder, according to Fox News.

On Wednesday, Wood was arrested at the Las Vegas Summerlin Hospital where La-Rayah-Davis – the 5-year-old daughter of Wood's girlfriend, Amy Taylor, had died.

Wood and Taylor are both charged with first degree violence and neglect, as well as first degree murder.

Wood's career in football includes three seasons with Notre Dame Fighting Irish, three games with the Houston Texans and two games with the Buffalo Bills, reports Fox News. While he dressed for two games with the New England Patriots, he never really played.

He also had brief stays with the Baltimore Ravens and the Seattle Seahawks, then with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League and the Montreal Alouettes.
