Former NFL defensive lineman and Notre Dame star Louis Nix has been reported missing since Tuesday.

Nix, a 2014 Houston Texans third-round pick, was reportedly missing in Florida, according to Ben Becker of ActionNewsJax.com, who said Nix’s mother had not heard from her son in days.

“The last communication from anyone who saw him was Tuesday,” Nix’s mother told the outlet. “I can’t call him because the voicemail is full and the people he talks to daily haven’t heard from him. Not like him.”

Nix’s mother thinks her son is in danger. On Saturday, Becker tweeted that she had no new information on her whereabouts.

A three-year holder for the Fighting Irish, Nix was gunned down in December while putting air in his car’s tires. Nix said at the time that the bullet hit his breastbone and entered his lung, which was then removed during the operation.

After his short stint with the Texans, Nix was eventually claimed by the New York Giants, then joined the Washington Redskins and Jacksonville Jaguars training teams in 2016. Nix has undergone a handful of knee surgeries, which ultimately ended his NFL career.

If anyone has any information on Nix’s whereabouts, his mother begs people to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at (904) 630-0500.
