Former US Representative Tulsi Gabbard tore Jeff Bezos apart before his successful trip to space, telling him to “do the world a favor” and “stay up there.”
Gabbard, a Democrat who represented Hawaii in the House before running for president in 2020, expressed her point of view ahead of the high-profile launch in a pair of tweets on Tuesday morning.
“Bezos, please stay up there. Do the world a favor, ”Gabbard wrote in the first post.
“The only problem I have with Bezos’ Blue Origin space rocket in space is that it’s going to come back,” she added in the second.
The founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, who is also the richest man in the world, became an astronaut on Tuesday after taking off from his New Shepard rocket at 9:12 a.m.ET from West Texas on the first commercial flight of his business.
“Best day of my life!” said Bezos, who was strapped to Seat No.6, after completing his dream come true trip.

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, when the founder of Amazon took off, more than 164,000 people had signed a petition on Change.org titled “Don’t let Jeff Bezos come back to Earth.”
The call for joke to prevent Bezos from returning to Earth comes after a separate petition with the same stated goal garnered hundreds of thousands of signatures.
As of June 21, more than 20,000 people had signed another petition, similarly titled “Petition not to allow Jeff Bezos to return to Earth.”
Bezos, who retired as CEO of Amazon this month, stepping up to an executive chairman of the board of the mammoth company, saw his net worth increase by $ 75 million in 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the site’s sales into the stratosphere.
