Politico reported Thursday that a lawyer for Trump had advised the four aides not to comply, arguing that the information requested was protected by executive privilege.

“We must accept his leadership and honor his invocation of executive privilege. As such, until these issues are resolved, we will not be able to accommodate your request for documents and testimony, ”the letter read, which was obtained by The Hill.
