Fortnite adds dinosaurs, makes crafting less painful • Eurogamer.net

The new Fortnite primary season got its first update this morning, and dinosaurs are now roaming the game’s island.

Like other wildlife, raptors can be tamed with a Hunter’s Cloak item – if you’re feeling brave enough. But there is no way to control them from a motorcycle.

Fortnite fans have been expecting these dinosaurs to appear since Chapter 2 Season 6 began two weeks ago. Suspicious-looking eggs around the island slowly crack, the sounds inside suggesting it wasn’t something left by the Easter Bunny.

Other changes in Fortnite update 16.10 tinker with the new battle royale crafting system. The two most common resources in the game – animal bones and mechanical parts – will now be available more widely.

This season has revamped Fortnite’s weapon pool and introduced a new ‘improvised’ weapon type that you can then upgrade with either resource in new Primal or Mechanical variants. But fans said parts to upgrade these weapons weren’t common enough to encourage their use – which this patch is expected to change.

Additionally, crafting material costs will now be cheaper for some Makeshift Weapon rarities, meaning you can upgrade those Gray Weapons faster.
