Fortnite quietly removed its new Bear Hug emote after discovering a bug that left players squatting in an NSFW position.
The friendly Bear Hug emote went on sale last night, priced at 200 V-Bucks, ahead of this weekend’s huge Ariana Grande concert series. It’s a synchronized emote, which means other players can interact with someone running it.
But players quickly found the emote to be a bit too much friendly. Epic Games has now removed the emote from sale.
Players who purchased the emote before it was removed are now reporting that the emote is locked and the gesture is no longer performed – bugged or not – when selected.
Epic Games acknowledged the removal of the Item Shop emote via its Fortnite status Twitter account, but did not explain in more detail why or when he would return.
Of course, video clips of the bug still exist before this one as disabled – see below. But that should mean that it can no longer be created.

WHY DID SHE COME IN FOR A HUG LIKE THIS pic.twitter.com/BGYdTjGIud– This Jackalope Liv (@DatOneJackalope) August 6, 2021
This is not the right time. All eyes are on Fortnite for tonight, where it will host its first live event of 2021 as Ariana Grande’s concert tour kicks off in-game at 11 p.m. ET.
A ridiculously detailed Ariana Grande skin went on sale earlier this week (priced at 2,000 V-Bucks).
Further Ariana Grande tour times will follow on weekends Saturdays 7pm, Sundays 3pm, 5pm and 11pm (UK hourly).
Finally, here’s how this emote should to see. Aww.
