Fortnite Galactus event: what time it starts, what to expect and more

What we do know is that it’s meant to be some kind of battle. Whether we offered ourselves a front row seat or could participate in the fight is still pending. What we can say for sure is that Galactus will descend on the island before all hell breaks loose.

What time is the Fortnite Galactus event?

Fortnite’s Galactus live event takes place tomorrow, December 1, 2020 at 1 a.m. PST (4 p.m. EST) in-game. Likewise, for other Fortnite live events, players will want to log in an hour in advance. There should be a prompt letting you know that the event is happening soon. This is when you hit the battle royale launcher (you wait at the menu screen until this point). Again, try to be early. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a line while everyone is participating in the Galactus event.

How to watch the Fortnite Galactus event?

The entire event will take place in-game. Hopefully if you log in early enough you can participate. Don’t worry if you can’t. Although this is a one-time event – unlike Travis Scott’s concert – it will be possible to catch some sort of VoD. IGN plans to capture this event live so you can definitely come back here to watch it.

Epic will also allow content creators to share highlights from the event via YouTube.

Note: Be sure to check with Epic if you plan to monetize the event. Only Support-A-Creator (SAC) members will be able to monetize by linking their YouTube and SAC accounts. Even then, they will only be able to do so for 90 days. Epic has said they won’t be issuing a withdrawal or anything. Still, it’s always better to be safe rather than sorry.

As to where (once things go), I would expect Galactus to be seen regardless of your position on the map. He’s a giant, God-like being after all. It’s going to be hard to miss. That said, it does come out of the water near the west side of the map. You can’t go wrong heading in this direction when logging in.

Fortnite Battle Bus Galactus Glitch

Another interesting development, besides the major event, is a Fortnite bus issue. Apparently, players can “hijack” the bus and drive it to Galactus for … reasons.

Discovered by YouTuber Glitch King, this glitch will give players the chance to take a closer look at a still submerged Galactus. To achieve this, you must first make sure that the Battle Bus is heading in its direction. After that, you need to disconnect your internet connection a few seconds before you are normally kicked off the bus. If done correctly, you will continue to fly towards Galactus, eventually seeing what looks like purple energy waves.

This issue doesn’t tell us anything new about Galactus or the upcoming live event. It appears to be linked to a cryptic tweet from Fortnite, however. Was Epic just cheeky / celebrating the problem? Probably. Still, it’s always fun to speculate on these things; that’s what these vague announcements are for.
