Here’s what we know about the Fortnite Galactus event, including an alleged date for when the live event will take place as well as small leaks for the event.
We’re less than two weeks away from Fortnite Season 5 and Epic released the last Season 4 patch two days ago, v14.60. The update didn’t add any new items or features to the game, but Fortnite Galactus event files were added.
These files have been encrypted, preventing data miners from disclosing them. However, two data miners managed to get the AES key to decrypt the files, but they decided not to disclose anything about the event.
There are a number of things we know about the event as well as a speculative date as to when the Galactus Fortnite event will take place. Let’s dive into the heart of the matter.
When does the Fortnite Galactus event take place?
The Fortnite Galactus event date will likely be December 1 at 4 p.m. ET. It’s based on the fact that it was the last weekend before the new season and because the previous live events for the storyline always took place at 2 p.m. ET on a Saturday.
However, there is still no official information, so anyone claiming to have a confirmed date for the Fortnite event is not true. The only way to know when exactly the event date is when the countdown appears, which could appear as early as tomorrow.
Leaks
In an interview, World Creative Director Donald Mustard said this will be the biggest Fortnite event yet. Data miners confirmed this by posting the size of the encrypted files with Galactus event files larger than 4GB. By comparison, the final showdown was 650MB and Travis Scott’s was 450MB.
Data miners also leaked the sounds of the countdown alarm which is expected to be added to the game in the coming days:

Leakers also mentioned that there would be downtime after the event, similar to what we saw after the black hole event. If so, hopefully we won’t be on an animated screen for more than 48 hours.
Leaks from the Galactus Fortnite event such as clips or what happens during the event will not be published. However, Epic Games decrypts the event files a few hours before the event starts, so if you don’t want the event to go to waste, I suggest you stay away. Twitter.
