Fortnite: How to find Razor Crest and fight the Mandalorian

Fortnite

fans, rejoice. Chapter 2, season 5 was inaugurated with the fall of Galactus. With his demise, there were new goodies – bounties, boss fights, a dope Mandalorian skin, and several changes to the map. Your basic run and shots will give you some new opportunities. But most of the best content is locked behind the Season 5 Battle Pass. Even so, there are some extra goodies just begging to be found. One of them is a piece of the Mandalorian’s Beskar armor. To help you find that first piece (and possibly fight Mando), we’ve compiled some viable information below.

How do you get your first piece of Beskar armor?

Purchasing the Season 5 Battle Pass will unlock the Mandalorian skin. But like the Disney + show, fans will have to complete quests if they hope to get a full Beskar’Kandar – a type of armor made up of Beskar pieces.
Beskar’s first piece of armor (to be placed on the right shoulder) can be found by completing the Razor quest. Fortnite is giving you a clue by letting Mando’s ship, the Razor Crest, crash somewhere on the battle royale map. It’s up to you to find it or you can check out the map that we include below with the location shown.

What did you think?

Fortnite Razor Ridge location

The Mandalorian’s ship is in a sand-covered area north of Lazy Lake. It’s just below a new area labeled “???”. The best way to find it is to pull the map up onto the Battle Bus and mark its location; you don’t have to be exact considering the size of the ship. Once you’ve dived off the bus, make your way to the marker. You’ll start to see the Razor Crest appear as you get closer to this section of the map. Smoke and debris are a dead gift.

Once you land on the beach, you will need to jump on the ship to complete the quest. And since we’re in the area, we might as well fight Mando and steal his jetpack. It is not the most honorable thing to do. And we’ll probably be placed on the guild’s most wanted list. Yet … it’s a jetpack …

How to find and fight the Mandalorian in Fortnite

The Mandalorian is one of the new boss characters in Fortnite. Wandering the area near his downed ship in the sand covered area to the north Lazy lake, it is easy to choose. By that I mean it’s not at all hard to find. Fighting it is another story. Not because of his Beskar armor, but because of the other players; everybody wants that damn jetpack. If you find the Mandalorian solo, go ahead and take it out. It doesn’t take a lot of shots – I used a shotgun and a few pistol cartridges – and its accuracy isn’t great. He can fly however, which can prolong the fight. Once defeated you will be able to pick up his Jetpack and Amban Sniper Rifle, which has to be one of the coolest weapons in the game. Zooming in paints heat signatures, making it easier to select distant targets. Flying over players and shooting decent game is a ‘boss kiss’ type game.

What is Beskar armor?

The Mandalorian outfit is well recognized by Star Wars fans. What sets this particular character’s armor apart is the Beskar veneer. Created by a near-indestructible ore found on the planet Mandalore, these metal plates could withstand direct hits from a lightsaber. Basically, it’s cool as hell and worth wearing in battle – even though it doesn’t provide real protective armor in Fortnite.

Fortnite bounties explained

Since we are talking about shooting and stealing NPCs, you should know that not all non-playable characters are bosses. Some of them give missions called bounties. In other words, unless you shoot them. A few lost hits are ok. Singled by a “?” Floating above their heads, these NPCs will wonder what’s wrong with you. A few more hits and they will attack you. At this point it’s kill or be killed. Instead, it’s best to calmly approach these people and ask about their bonuses.

These special missions require you to hunt down a rival player. Similar to Call of Duty: Warzone, a yellow circle on the map will indicate their last known location. It’s up to you to reach them before anyone else does (or the six-minute timer runs out), smash them to pieces, and then collect the reward – namely a new currency made up of gold bars.

Gold Bars can be found in chests, on players, and earned by avoiding / sending the player who was hired to kill you. The best way to get bars however is to complete bonuses. Accumulate enough gold bars and you can buy weapons, consumables and more from NPCs. You’ll even be able to hire them to fight alongside you – instead of engaging to hunt down other players. Moments of fun!
