Fortnite on Nintendo Switch to get improved performance, consistent frame rate and more

Fortnite on Nintendo Switch is getting a significant upgrade that will improve the overall graphics performance of the Battle Royale game, Epic announced on Tuesday.

Starting today, a new update for Fortnite on Switch upgrades the resolution and frame rate in docked and portable mode. Handheld mode goes from 1000×560 to 1170×660, while the resolution of docked mode goes from 1390×780 to 1560×880.

If those numbers don’t ring a bell, Epic has provided an image to illustrate the effects of the upgrade. You can obviously see a decent enhancement to the tree’s foliage in the foreground, allowing for sharper leaves and other details.

When it comes to frame rate, Epic promises “less hassle, which translates to a smoother experience overall.” Fortnite on Switch offers dynamic resolution to help ensure consistent framerate, but Epic says that will be less necessary with the new update.
