Fortnite just surprised fans with its Season 4 finale, which saw players transported into a truly epic battle against Marvel villain Galactus. The event absolutely gave players a lot to take in, before stopping for the rest of the day to prepare for Season 5. Fans are already using this downtime to speculate on what to expect next season – and it sounds like one of the biggest rumors could be proven. Shortly after the event, Fortnite posted a brief video on their Twitter page, asking fans to respond with a code word in order to receive the audio transmission. The transmission code in question was “#Bounty”, which suggested that it could confirm a cross with Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Allowed, the audio message that fans get after saying “#Bounty” seems totally unrelated to The Mandalorian, and focuses more on a research diary on a woman nicknamed Wildheart, who can transform into several different beings. But the code word being “Bounty” – given that Din Djarin / The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) is a bounty hunter – seems a bit too coincidental, especially after leaks seem to indicate that The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are available in season 5. Battle pass.
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Fortnite hosted a Star Wars-themed event, as the game previously offered cosmetics (and a surprisingly canonical event) tied to the release of The Rise of Skywalker Last year. Given the fact that The Mandalorian is in the middle of its second season – and its titular character and Baby Yoda are incredibly popular – it looks like an increasingly plausible situation.
