We are about to start week 4 Fortnite season 10 or season X, as Epic is determined to call. I have written less about the game than the previous seasons, especially because frankly, it's not very good.
Fortnite Season X has changed the game in many ways, but almost nothing that I would consider "for the better". The changes in gameplay, challenges and even the card have all been disappointing, and I hope things will turn around at the second half of the season here.
What's the problem with X season? Where to start:
The mech
This will continue to be an endless battle between Epic and the community until the end of the season when the Mech is inevitably vaulted, but Epic does not do not want another Infinity Blade situation on their hands by removing it early. The Mech and its explosive and explosive fire, as well as its rocket dams have totally destabilized many Fortnite encounters, and even though Epic says that the total number of Mech victims is not so high, the vast majority of the community does not like the addition of Mech to the game. Epic admitted that it was a tool to get more casual players who kills and wins, but it's like throwing a monster truck into a football game every time that happens, and the contrast with the Baller, which has an impact on the gameplay but did not have to totally break most of the encounters in which he was involved. And Epic will not even do that nerve.
Rift Zones
None of the Rift Zones we've seen so far has been crazy about new maps added. The best new POI is probably the meteor itself, because I find it very amusing to land there, but Tilted Town which removes the building feels strangely restrictive, and that is why it is essential to build it . Fortnite formula. Take it off and it's just … a kind of boring shooter. Then Retail Row added zombies for the fourth time, and no one ever really liked Epic's desire to introduce Save the World style monsters into Fortniteand that has not changed. Now, the new Rift Zone is just … an empty space where the football stadium was. All this sounds farfetched, but in practice, it's pretty bad and boring.
challenges
I am not a fan of the new challenge system introduced by Epic. The daily challenges that get unlocked during the week before disappearing completely are bad, especially when the last ones only give you one or two days to finish them before they evaporate. We had exactly one week of thematic weekly challenges where we were asked to find things, something for which I could write guides, but tomorrow we have a huge list of challenges that is nothing more that "salvage tasks", and I know that there is one of those manifestations that is nothing but "things to shoot". It has become amazing over the past few weeks how interesting their challenges are to complete or write. I absolutely loved Fortby's season 9 hunt, but we have nothing like this here, and the challenge system has become more complicated and less interesting.
It just arrived yesterday, but the Junk Rift already seems to be potentially a problem with its instant destruction potential, but we'll see how it develops.
In short, I really did not like this season, if it is perhaps the battle skin revisited that reminds me of previous seasons, I find rather nice. But apart from that? Additions to gameplay, map changes, and the challenge management system are simply worse than they were before, and I hope the game will turn things around.
