When I read this morning's patch notes, Air Royale seemed simple. When I entered a match, it was chaos. Some of that is on me; I am unhappy both to steer the plane and to aim for his weapon. The storm closed beside and above you, but I continued to forget his movement as I was being shot from all sides. The crates constantly fall, attracting you to their brilliance, but disappearing when another player grabs them. When I was flying the plane while my teammate was firing, they were jumping most often from one position to the position of the plane, making it difficult to tilt the plane for the aircraft. keep out of danger. They would be killed, disappear and reappear, or we both die and we suddenly find ourselves in roles exchanged and collapsing on the ground as we try to regain our bearings. After three games, I understood, and from then on, Air Royale was really fun. I finally managed the challenge "eliminate opponents in different places", which had always escaped me; at Air Royale, I managed to shoot down enemies in the airs above Tilted Towers and Loot Lake. It was exciting to enter and grab a crate before another enemy, or to chase someone while shooting rockets at his plane. According to the release notes, you can get more answers for your plane by hijacking enemy planes, but I have not seen anyone do it yet and I have not found a way to remove it myself .
The mode hardly feels like Fortnite, with its twist on the crates, its total indifference to the emblematic geography of the game and the return of the vaulted plane. But it's raucous and enjoyable in the way of many LTM's of the game. It's a nice break, an easy way to take on challenges and deliciously ridiculous.
Patch 8.40 also brings what Epic calls the ability to "caress" FortniteDogs, chameleons and other domestic animals. Here is an excerpt of this caress in action.
I've tested this on my own, and this clip is accurate: pressing the "Pet" button forces you to vaguely scan the creature in front of you. When I did this to another player's gingerbread man, the animal dabbed me back. This is not "caressing", Epic. I do not know what it is.
Among other changes, another LTM called Food Fight: Deep-Fried. It's a variation of a previous LTM fight that adds lava to the mix. The infantry rifle also now has epic and legendary rarities. A UI element now allows you to create the same emoticon as another player if you own it, making it easy to hold these dance nights in the lobby.
