In June, the Fossil Group announced the release of a premium “Gen 6” Wear OS watch this fall. Fossil sent a teasing email today that “Gen 6 is coming” and that it would be “much faster”.
This marketing email sent to customers today (via Reddit) boldly proclaims that Gen 6 delivers “much more, much faster.” It’s light on details except for:

She is the latest tease after Fossil who said “she is bringing the best Wear OS smartwatch possible to market this year” in a Qualcomm press release last month. The current assumption is that the Fossil Gen 6 will use the Snapdragon Wear 4100, but that means it won’t get Wear OS 3 until mid-2022 and there will be constraints due to not launching the new platform. -form natively.
Meanwhile, Fossil previously touted an unspecified new chip as offering faster performance, better battery life and LTE globally, as well as “more advanced health features.” A “bigger brand design” that would come at a “premium price” was also mentioned.
Gen 6’s Fossil tease, of course, is coming of them days before Samsung announced a pair of Wear OS 3 devices. It will be the first to use the unified platform created with Google.
