Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio said on Wednesday the team fined all four quarterbacks for not wearing a mask in a meeting last week, a situation that led to the downtime of three of them for Sunday’s defeat against the Saints.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel tested positive for the virus, and fellow QBs Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles were considered high-risk close contacts and sidelined. It was later revealed that they did not wear masks during their position meetings.

The latter three were activated from the NFL reserve / COVID-19 roster on Tuesday.

Fangio did not disclose the amount of the fines.

Fangio also said on Wednesday that Bortles, who is part of the training squad, will not be on the training ground to “limit exposure” to others. Fangio said Bortles will come for his daily COVID-19 test and be able to collect food, but that’s it.

Practice team wide receiver Kendall Hinton played quarterback for the Broncos on Sunday and finished 1 of 9 passing for 13 yards in the 31-3 loss to the Saints.

Lock apologized Sunday via social media.
