Four things to do before Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost kicks off tomorrow

Well, we did. More than a day until the great Witch Queen + more reveals tomorrow, which will lead directly to the launch of Season 15, Season of the Lost.

It’s your last day to do a number of things, and while the seasonal content no longer evaporates, there are still a few things I would recommend doing.

1. Hand over your Vanguard tokens

The game has told you to do this a few times now, but if you pushed it off then I don’t blame you because it’s not really fun. Next season, Destiny 2 will convert Zavala to the Crucible / Gambit tokenless ranking system, but you will lose all of your unspent tokens in the process.

I returned around 5,000 tokens and managed to get maybe… two rolls of guns that I kept (and probably still won’t use). All armor is automatically destroyed, given its inability to generate even moderately high stats. I had around 100 Upgrade Cores and a bunch of Legendary Shards that I didn’t need. But I mean, hey, better than nothing, so you might as well.

2. Clean up your character, postmaster and safe

I forgot to do this before and it’s boring. A new season is about to drop with a whole bunch of new loot, so if you’re like me and have 7 or 8 of your weapon and armor character slots full at the start of the season, enjoy! in to catch everything from your postmaster. And make sure your postmaster is clean so you don’t lose things completely.

The same goes for your vault, where if you start the season in full or at 490/500, you won’t have anywhere to put new things. At this point, since the sunset is dead, we really need more vault space, but i have no indication this is coming. So start cleaning up.

3. Familiarize yourself with nerfs and buffs

It’s probably one of the biggest sandbox changes we’ve ever seen in the game in terms of the grand total of everything that changes. Bungie took three weeks of massive TWABs to explain it all, and we don’t even have the full patch notes yet, which are likely to set a record.

I mean, you can stick with your current loadout if you want to, heading into the new Season 15 content, but for my part, I’m going to try a lot of newly improved things.

Here is the TWAB change subclass.

Here is the armor changes TWAB.

Here is the weapon that changes TWAB.

So when you see me there Nova Warping with Merciless, you will understand why.

4. Buy the Raiden Flux of Xur

Xur is currently in the hangar and is selling a 67-power Raiden Flux with a good cast for hunters. Considering the PvE buffs coming to the arc staff, this is a must-have for experimentation in the coming season. Who knows, maybe we’ll throw in our Lamentations and hit Atraks with Bow Staff and Raiden Flux in the future. Also pick up the Trinity Ghoul while you’re at it if you don’t have one, as we’re heading into the Overload Bow season.

That is just about everything. You can also remember to claim your rewards from your Season Pass which you may not have gotten yet, but in the worst case I think you can do that later on the Bungie website. You don’t have to spend all your umbrellas and change on substitute weapons, as that won’t go away, but if you want to “clean up” then of course, maybe. For the lucky players who have landed Mythoclast, it’s time to go get the Catalyst before all of its massive buffs.

Okay, tomorrow is gonna be wild. See you later.
