Fox News presenter Neil Cavuto interrupted a media briefing on Monday featuring Kayleigh McEnany, who is both the White House press secretary and a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, as she continued to make the baseless allegations of the electoral fraud campaign.
“She accuses the other party of welcoming the fraud and illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back it up, I can’t, in a good mood, continue to show it to you,” Cavuto said as he interrupted the press conference, fending off what he described as “explosive” charges from McEnany.
“Not so fast,” Cavuto added.
McEnany suggested, without evidence, that Democrats praised “fraud” and “illegal voting” in the 2020 election.
“We want every legal vote to be counted,” McEnany said, echoing President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claim that votes for President-elect Joe Biden were illegal.

Although several mainstream media, including Fox News, have declared Biden the projected winner of the 2020 election, Trump has refused to concede and rejects the results.
Fox News opinion leaders like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson backed Trump over his baseless claim that the election was stolen from him. The Trump campaign has presented no evidence to support the fraud claims and has seen little success in its efforts to present legal challenges to the election results. A number of the lawsuits brought by the Trump campaign have already been dismissed because they lack merit.
Trump also falsely claimed he won the election. Meanwhile, a number of world leaders praised Biden on his victory, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Some Republicans in Congress rebuffed Trump’s unsubstantiated fraud claims and praised Biden.
“I would like to congratulate President-elect Biden on his apparent victory – he loves this country, and I wish him every success,” GOP Senator Susan Collins of Maine said in a statement on Monday.
“Presidential transitions are important, and the president-elect and vice-president-elect should have every chance to ensure that they are ready to govern on January 20,” Collins added.
But a number of prominent GOP lawmakers have backed the president despite his lack of evidence – including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
“President Trump is 100% within his rights to review allegations of wrongdoing and weigh his legal options,” McConnell said Monday.
There is no evidence of major irregularities or massive electoral fraud regarding the 2020 election results.
Although electoral fraud is extremely rare in the United States, the president has argued for months without merit that expanded access to postal voting amid the COVID-19 pandemic would lead to widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Trump also refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power before election day.
Before the vote ended on Nov. 3, the president repeatedly signaled that he would claim the election was “rigged” against him if he loses, but there is no evidence to support those claims.
