According to authorities and a family member, a 4-year-old boy was hit by shards of glass and died after the death of a framed photo in his home in Philadelphia, reported the AP. According to a statement from the municipal police, the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Amanda Velez said her son, Adrian Ortega, and her two sisters were playing together when the frame fell, throwing glass around the room. It is not clear why it happened. She says that shards hit Ortega in the abdomen and that he was bleeding profusely when he was taken to the hospital. He died there shortly after. More details about his injuries were not disclosed.
