The frozen vegetable company, Gelagri recruits a hundred seasonal workers this summer. This recruitment method, proposed by Pôle emploi, was presented to future employees at a meeting held on July 2, 2018.
What is the Simulation Recruitment Method (MRS)?
This method inspired by the recruitment model of the automobile industry has been used by Pôle emploi for more than twenty years. It has the distinction of being based solely on the skills of the candidate and not on the CV. No experience or training is required of applicants, only motivation and skills are looked at. This so-called "open" and "non-discriminatory" technique allows for personalized support for the candidate. The latter is tested on concrete exercise exercises, which evaluate the professional actions specific to the position, and previously performed on employees of the company.
How is the recruitment done?
It takes first apply to an SRM. In the case of Gelagri, a meeting was organized to introduce the company and allows jobseekers to register for MRS sessions. During these workshops, the candidate demonstrates his abilities through several exercises, for a particular position. For a job as a machine operator, the candidate will have to prove his dexterity, respect the norms and instructions and know how to work under tension. Once selected, it follows then, the traditional interview to determine the motivation of the candidate.
To which companies is this recruitment device aimed?
This method can be used when a company recruits more than three or four persons. "MRS can be used in all types of sectors. In Loudéac, we were contacted by agribusiness companies, but also companies from the hotel industry, or even stores looking for self-service employees " explains Anaïs Guercher, Pôle emploi adviser. However, all have one thing in common, a strong need for staff. This technique allows the recruitment of 40 000 people per year, on average.
In the framework of recruitment for Gelagri, what are the profiles of the employees sought?
"There is no typical profile because we train the seasonal workers at the position they have applied for. Many have the skills and qualities to perform this job, simply they do not know it yet " says Fabienne Hervo, human resources badistant at Gelagri, a subsidiary of Triskalia. It is thanks to extra-professional activities, such as DIY or sewing for example, that we develop skills transferable to another activity or job.
