Seven people were injured, four seriously, Saturday night, in the collapse of a balcony in Soulac-sur-Mer, reports Sunday, July 15 France Blue Gironde.
The victims are French tourists who had gathered on the wooden balcony of their rental house to watch the fireworks of 14-July. Twelve people were on it when it gave way, making a fall of four meters. The firefighters were called around 11:10 pm
Three of the wounded had to be transported to the Bordeaux University Hospital: a 48-year-old woman described as "very seriously" affected, and a woman and a 20-year-old man in a serious condition . The other four wounded were hospitalized in Lesparre: a 49-year-old man, also seriously injured, and three women aged 48, 73 and 82, who are less seriously injured.
A second balcony, the same apartment threatened also to collapse on arrival of help. The firefighters had to dismount it and place it on the ground. An investigation was initiated to determine the circumstances of this collapse. It is entrusted to the territorial brigade of Soulac and the research brigade of Lesparre-Médoc
