Citroën hopes a little miracle of its new SUV

Citroën marketers and sellers are eager to see this happen new vehicle in the concessions. This is planned for early 2019, with first orders falling at the end of December. For the moment, the PSA group brand that designed the DS, CX, XM and Xsara Picbado lacks a nugget of this caliber. A vehicle that is an impressive, comfortable, innovative and well-finished car for executive families. At the same time, the machine must be up to date – include a SUV (for Sport Utility Vehicle), one of these 4 x 4 urban-style vehicles that sell like hotcakes.

The C5 Aircross will be is it the little miracle that, like its cousin the Peugeot 3008, will definitely revive Citroën? The brand is doing better than in 2017 and contributes to the historical results of French manufacturers in the first half: 2.1 million vehicles sold for the Renault group (up 10% compared to the same period of 2017) and 2.2 million for PSA (+ 38% thanks to the acquisition of Opel, + 8% for the Peugeot Citroën and DS alone).

"We have achieved a sales record for seven years, says Linda Jackson, the brand's general manager. Worldwide registrations increased by 9% in the first half of the year, with a 50% jump in China. The good scores of the C3, the utility range, the C4 Cactus and the new C3 Aircross (the small SUV launched in June 2017) put the balm in the heart of the commercial teams.
