The fire, which occurred at 21:50 on the premises of the company Soprema, required the intervention of 66 machines and 131 firefighters, said the prefecture in a statement, stating that it was considered "mastered" at 3 am Friday. "No casualties are to be deplored" but "3 000 to 3 500 m² (of buildings) were destroyed by the flames" specified the prefecture.

Still according to Prefectural authorities, the establishment of Soprema – a company specializing in waterproofing, insulation and roofing – is "subject to authorization under clbadified installations for the protection of the environment (ICPE) but no 'is not clbadified as Seveso' .
