The fire, which occurred at 21:50 on the premises of the company Soprema, required the intervention of 66 vehicles and 131 firefighters. A security perimeter has been deployed around the site and "badessments are in progress as regards the risks of possible pollution and the preventive measures to be implemented," the prefecture also said.

Still according to the prefectural authorities, the establishment of Soprema – a company specializing in waterproofing, insulation and roofing – is subject to authorization for clbadified installations for the protection of the environment (ICPE) but is not seveso ". According to her, "mobile dams are installed on the basin adjoining the site of Soprema in order to filter any polluting elements from extinguishing products."
On June 7, an explosion occurred during the day at another site of Soprema located in Saint-Julien-du-Sault (Yonne) and clbadified "Seveso threshold high". She had three wounded, two of them serious. The day before, the explosion of a grain elevator had rocked the port area of Strasbourg, making four wounded including three serious.
