The month of August is generally marked by a significant increase in the regulated prices of electricity, which 80% of households enjoy. This will not be the case this summer. The other novelties of this first day of the month are less pleasing for your budget: the cost of transport is increasing in several cities and new drugs are deprived of reimbursement. Electricity: – 0,5% for the "Blue Tariffs"
The regulated tariffs without taxes of the electricity intended for the individuals record this 1st of August an average decrease of 0,5%, confirmed Monday in L ' Express the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition. This decision must be published in the official journal of 31 July.
Attention, this average of course includes different developments according to the tariffs. Thus, the basic rate increases by 0.1%, the "peak / off-peak" tariff decreases by 0.8% and the "tempo" rate (different prices depending on the hours but also on the days) falls by 1 , 7%.
These "Blue Tariffs" are fixed by the public authorities after the opinion of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) usually once a year, on August 1, but an exceptional average increase of 0.7% was entered into force in February 2018. It is only the second time in ten years that a decline has been recorded.²
Gas: slight rise in prices
After the very sharp increase in July – + 9.2% on average ! – the tariffs excluding taxes of the regulated gas, reviewed each month, evolve little this 1st of August. An average increase of 0.2% was announced.
In detail, it will be "0.1% for those who use gas and cooking, 0.1% for those who have dual use cooking and hot water and 0.2% for homes that heat gas, "said the CRE.
Anti-Alzheimer drugs are no longer reimbursed
The four anti-Alzheimer drugs (Aricept, Ebixa, Exelon and Reminyl) were reimbursed up to 15% by Social Security. They are not at all from August 1st. The High Authority of Health had judged in 2016 that the actual benefit was of a "low efficiency" and that they presented a "risk of potentially serious side effects".
Expected economics: about 90 million euros a year. According to the Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, the sum "will be dedicated to the teams that take care of the sick".
The France Alzheimer Association deplores an "unsuitable" decision. "If behind the expression 'effectiveness of drugs', is meant to cure the disease, she explains, of course, they are not and have never been. we are talking about an effect on the symptoms, so yes, these drugs are effective (…) The prescription of the drugs also participated in maintaining a therapeutic link between the doctor and the patient. "

The prices of public transport are increasing in several cities of France this Wednesday, August 1st. In Lille, for example, the metro ticket sold per unit increases from € 1.60 to € 1.65, but will now be valid for one hour (interruptions, transfers and return allowed, on the entire Transpole network).
In the metropolis of Bordeaux, the basic ticket ("tickarte a trip" of TBM) increases by 10 cents and costs 1.70 € instead of 1.60 €. The same goes for the metropolis of Tours, where the unit ticket Fil Bleu is changing for the first time since 2014, climbing to € 1.60.
More than a few days to enjoy the sales …
This Tuesday, August 7th will ring the last day of summer sales in most of the country, after six weeks of discounts. They will, however, play extra time until Wednesday, August 14 in the Alpes-Maritimes and the Pyrenees-Orientales and until Tuesday 21 in Corsica.
From mid-2019 or early 2020, their duration should be reduced. An article in the Pact Bill, which is to be discussed in Parliament at the beginning of the school year, foresees a duration of between three and six weeks in the future.
Still no Livret A rate increase
