The Pixel 3 XL is finally stronger than you think

The Pixel 3 XL pbaded into the expert hands – and relentless – of the terrible JerryRigEverything. Curiously, he did well despite a certain fragility in his back plate.

Presented last October 12, the Pixel 3 XL will not be available before November 2 in France, but the terminal already circulates between many hands and especially between those of several media and other influencers.

In fact, shortly after the announcement, colleagues reported an extreme fragility of the back plate, a fragility resulting in the appearance of scratches on the matte part of the plate.

The Pixel 3 XL was treated to a torture session

JerryRigEverything had the opportunity to take over the terminal and he took the opportunity to make him undergo a torture session as he alone has the secret.

Against all odds, the Pixel 3XL has finally done quite well.

If the YouTUBeur confirms what everyone already knows, namely that the matte part of the back plate has the annoying tendency to attract scratches, he was still surprised by the resistance of the plate protecting his screen. Contrary to what one might have thought, the latter seems rather resistant and the first scratches have thus appeared when using a hardness 6 mine.

The notch also resists scratches, as well as the speakers above and below the slab.

A scratch-sensitive backplate

As indicated above, the real Achilles heel of the phone is at the back plate. It will indeed be enough to put the phone in a pocket with a pair of keys or even parts to damage the plate. Likewise for the paint covering the edges of the terminal, a painting that will also have a tendency to break apart into pieces exposed to metallic objects.

The Pixel 3 XL also underwent the lighter test. For several seconds, the YouTUBeur has exposed the screen to a light flame. Once again, the plate has come out well. No trace of burn appeared. Likewise, the terminal has pbaded the Bend Test with all honors.

Some of you probably know it, but Google France entrusted me with a Pixel 3 XL for a few weeks. The white version, actually.

I use it every day without any protection and I have not – yet – noticed the appearance of the slightest scratch on the back. So, if you do not know what color to take and if you want to limit the damage, it may be better to go to this module.
