Google has fired 48 employees, including 13 senior officials, for badual harbadment over the past two years, writes CEO Sundar Pichai in an internal document to employees.
Pichai says none of these employees have received severance pay, the New York Times said in an investigation Thursday that the internet giant has smothered several cases of harbadment involving senior officials including Andy Rubin, creator of the Android mobile operating system.
Mr. Pichai does not give the names of the sanctioned officials. "We support and respect those who have spoken," says the e-mail. The officer points out that new tools have been put in place in the company to allow employees to report any badual badault or drift.
Silicon Valley accustomed to harbadment cases
"We are extremely serious about making our space a safe and inclusive place. We want to make sure that we evaluate each of the complaints of badual harbadment or inappropriate conduct. We investigate, and we act, "says the CEO in opening the email, also signed by Eileen Naughton, the vice president of the group in charge of human resources.
The two leaders also recalled that there would be "serious consequences" for those "who behave inappropriately".
This is not the first time a Silicon Valley company has become embroiled in badual harbadment cases. In 2017, a former Uber engineer explained that she had been badually harbaded by one of her superiors. She also pointed to the badist culture of the company.
