A mayor offers a monthly "good fuel" of 50 euros to get to work

In full resentment against rising prices at the pump, the mayor of Roche-la-Moliere (Loire) has decided to offer its citizens the most modest a "good fuel" monthly up to 50 euros to get to their work.

The principle of this boost, which is for Smic people forced to take their car to their place of work, was adopted Friday, told AFP Eric Berlivet, mayor (former UDI, SE) of this commune of some 10,000 inhabitants.

"Encourage those who have a job not to give up"

The objective of this "good fuel", worth 50 euros for a full-time, prorated for the part-time, is "to encourage those who have a job not to give up because of the new 7% increase in fuel taxes planned for January 1st, "added the chief magistrate of this city of the metropolis of Saint Etienne.

The vouchers will be distributed from 1 January, for a period of six months. Another condition to benefit from it, to travel between 15 and 40 kilometers to go to work, because beyond there is a device of tax aid, specifies the elected one which wants to "privilege the action to the criticism" and ignores still the number of potential beneficiaries of this aid. The mayor had lent his support to Emmanuel Macron during the presidential election.
