6:30 pm, Saturday, the carnival of Auzances (Creuse) is in full swing and the rides turn the heads of their customers. In particular, this fairground trade of flying chairs makes seven children spin when it is hit by a car.
At the wheel, an 87-year-old lady, confused, who seems to have lost herself in the middle of the Saint-Jacques rides, the Auzances patronal feast, which continues until Monday, in the Place du Marché
Even if the collision occurred at a very slow speed, the showman reacts to the quarter turn and activates the emergency stop of his machine. But going down, the "flying chairs" come crashing into the car.
A slightly injured girl
More fear than harm, however, since the firefighters of the Evaux-les-Bains emergency center who intervened only had to take charge and carry the only victim: an 11-year-old trainee referred to the Montluçon hospital for a control examination. According to the gendarmes who took news this morning, the child is well.
Their colleagues from the Auzances Brigade heard the driver. The prefect could be seized to request a medical examination of the motorist to badess his ability to drive.
How did she get to the place?
This lady from Fontanières, not far from Auzances, went to Saturday Mbad when she found herself in the Place du Marché full of its fifty stands and rides in full activity. Pbaders-by and fairgrounders signaled her to stop moving, which she did. But, according to witnesses, the unfortunate woman got tangled up with her crankset and started the march when she was going back.
But how did she get to the square? The services had set up the barrier prohibiting access, but some barriers had been removed, perhaps by fairground visitors coming to settle.
The municipality and the festival committee decided to react on Saturday night during a "crisis cell" by reinforcing the enclosure with bins placed across the road now prohibiting all access to vehicles.
