Note this date: July 27, 2018. That day, it will be the moment to look at what is happening over your heads, since the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century will occur.
Lunar or solar eclipses, Super Moon … These rare astronomical shows fascinate us. On July 27, a total lunar eclipse will be visible from Europe and its particularity is due to its exceptional length: 103 minutes in total.
So you should have the time to see and admire it. This lunar eclipse will start at around 21:30 and should end around 00:20. According to Jean-Luc Dauvergne, head of section at Ciel & Espace, "we will be three minutes below the theoretical maximum," which makes this eclipse the longest of our century.
But this is not the only surprise that we should reserve this phenomenon: around 22:20, after a good hour of spectacle, the Moon should change color to become red.
A visible eclipse everywhere in France
The real good news is that all of France should be able to enjoy this show. It is true that exceptional phenomena occur in Heaven, but we must be in the right place at the right time to enjoy it. This time will be the good one, or almost. To enjoy it, the sky will obviously have to be cleared.
