This is an ascent that attracts many tourists every year. The exceptional site of the rock Solutré (Saône-et-Loire) was bereaved Thursday, July 5 by the fall of a woman of about fifty years, who did not survive, as reported by Le Bien Public

The victim fell some 30 meters high in circumstances that are yet to be determined. The doctor of Smur de Mâcon, called immediately on the spot, was obliged to note the death of the walker. It was then taken over by the Grimp (Group of reconnaissance and intervention in dangerous environment) because of adverse weather conditions that prevented the hoisting of the body.

The rock Solutré became famous at the eyes of the general public in the 1980s and 1990s being the place of an annual and ritual rise of the then President of the Republic, François Mitterrand who climbed it surrounded by some of his relatives.
