Airbus signed a contract with the Ukrainian Interior Ministry on Saturday for 55 helicopters, the European aircraft manufacturer announced.
Announced at the end of May by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, the contract is estimated at more than 500 million euros, according to a source close to the record.
The 55 civilian aircraft are intended for search and rescue missions, civil security, and emergency medical services.
contract includes 21 bi-engines H225s that were used for pbadenger transport and will be rehabilitated for their new missions. Their landing is planned in Kiev "before the end of the year", according to Airbus.
The other aircraft are new: they are 10 twin-engine H145s and 24 single-engine H125.
The contract provides also locally a training and maintenance center.
