Alassane Plea (Gladbach) wins a hat-trick against Werder Bremen – Foot

The French striker scored the three goals of Borussia Mönchengladbach's 3-1 win over Werder Bremen. Another Frenchman scored this afternoon in the Bundesliga: Jean-Philippe Mateta (Mainz).

Albadane Plea had not scored a month in the Bundesliga and the victory (3-0) against Bayern Munich. His awakening was brutal Saturday for Werder Bremen (3-1). While his counter was stuck at five goals, he raised his total to eight this afternoon to take the lead of the scorers before another French, Sebastien Haller (7 achievements).

For this hat-trick, his second in Germany after a first round Cup against the BSC Hastedt (D5, swept 11-1), the former Nice put the forms. He opened the scoring after a superb sequence (to be found on video), concluded by a strike from the left full of composure (39th).

He scored his other two goals in four minutes (48th and 52nd). The first of a recovery of the right, following a combination on corner with Thorgan Hazard, which pbaded between the legs of Jiri Pavlenka. The second … of a recovery of the left, on a recessed center of Oscar Wendt. These three goals allowed Gladbach to consolidate his second place in the standings.

Mateta also scores

Another Frenchman scored this afternoon: Jean-Philippe Mateta. Already a scorer last week against Werder Bremen (decidedly, the French like this club …), the international Espoirs scored the second goal of Mainz Friborg (score 3-1) a uncrossed head, on a center of Jean-Paul Boetius. Jean-Philippe Gbamin, a former French Espoirs who became an Ivorian international in 2017, opened the scoring with a big cross-ball on the ground of 30 meters.

Pavard in boss mode

A powerful kick was also discussed with Stuttgart in the 2-0 win at Nürnberg. It is not the work of Benjamin Pavard and his bastard strike, but Erik Thommy (82). The French international has finally achieved a quality service. He was in boss mode behind, where he directed his defense and cut many trajectories. He almost even scored a goal, but his head went over (81).

This success, the second of the season after that against Werder Bremen (decidedly …) on September 29, allows Stuttgart to revive for the maintenance and return to two points of his opponent of the day, the first non-relegation. The VfB however retains the red lantern, as Fortuna Düsseldorf beat Hertha Berlin at the same time (4-1).

Hoffenheim pbades the fourth

Hoffenheim is in great shape. The TSG 1899, which held OL in check (2-2) in the Champions League this week, won its fourth straight Bundesliga match against Augsburg (2-1).
