Anti-terrorist operation: five men in police custody

Three of them were arrested in Saint-Etienne and the two others were already incarcerated.

Five men were taken into custody Tuesday, November 13, the day of commemoration of the attacks of 2015, as part of an anti-terrorist operation. They are targeted by an investigation into "initial desires in the jihad zone and the imprecise mention of a project of violent badault", according to concordant sources solicited by AFP.

Three of these suspects have been arrested by the Antiterrorist Sub-Directorate (SDAT) in Saint-Etienne, in the department of the Loire, as part of a preliminary investigation opened on August 31 by the Paris prosecutor, says a judicial source . The other two men in custody were already imprisoned for other reasons. The five men are between 23 and 52 years old. Their custody can last up to 96 hours, as permitted by law in terrorism-related cases.
