Arthur Germain, also son of former MP Jean-Marc Germain, left Dover at 8:30 am (9:30 in France) and touched the French coast at 19:30. "It was a bit hard from half past six because I had tendinitis on my left arm" told the young man at the microphone of RMC Sport, after his aquatic journey. The young man had opened an online collection to raise funds to finance his project, but also to help the NGO Afrique Pleine d'Avenir, which works for access to education in the sub-Saharan region.
