Camille Chamoux facing school bullying on TF1

Camille Chamoux is in the casting of the unpublished TV movie The day I burned my heart , inspired by the tragedy of Jonathan Destin. The actress and comedian tells us more about her role, composed with humanity and delicacy.

TV MAGAZINE. – How does a comedian find herself in a drama as dramatic as this one?

Camille CHAMOUX. – Quite naturally, in fact. I was extremely touched by the script, by this story I knew was based on real facts, and by Jonathan himself, whom I had heard by chance on the radio. As for my comedy cap, you have to ask TF1.

Is the issue of bullying at school a concern for you?

My children are very young, and I do not remember having been a victim myself … I know teenage cruelty, but I admit that I did not know it had become a social problem. I understood what it was like in contact with a youth jury that I chaired at the Festival de Cabourg, composed of teens from 12 to 15 years old. All of them had a history of school bullying to tell whose victim had made a suicide attempt or committed suicide. Even though I was not yet quite ready to accept the role. I did not hesitate anymore …

How does one embrace a role like that of Jonathan's mother?

I did not meet his mother. I was inspired by various testimonies and my own feelings, but also the requirement not to fall into the pitfall of pathos. Sabine is inevitably overwhelmed by anxiety and guilt. Will his child survive? How could she not see? What to do now? The game, it seems to me, and that's how I like to tell life, because of the small distance it must absolutely put between it and the drama it lives. Basically, this is perhaps why TF1 chose me.

As a mother, do you think you would see your child's suffering?

I imagine that all parents are asking the question. As such, the message of this film is very strong, because if it tells children to talk, it also tells parents, and more broadly adults, to take the time to listen.
