It is rare indeed that thieves act just under the eyes of gendarmes. In "short circuit" so to speak. This is nevertheless what happened two years ago, on June 5th, 2016 at McDo of École-Valentin, near Besançon. And, despite the unusual nature of its outcome, the robbery was no less traumatic for the hundred or so clients and employees who were at that time in the establishment.
It is 8:45 pm this Sunday when Teddy Hamitouche, 24 years old at the time, and Laïb Gauchi, 27 years old, both from the Montbéliard region where they come from, burst into the restaurant. Laïb Gauchi is the first arrested after having stumbled on the stairs with his booty (2 211 €). Teddy Hamitouche, his 12 caliber in his hand, managed to go further. The gendarmes at his heels, he crosses the railroad tracks, reaches the opposite platform, turns his weapon pointing towards the gendarmes, who then fire, injuring him in the abdomen.
