Ferrari: soon a 4-cylinder electrified?

Hard to imagine a modern Ferrari with a four-cylinder under its hood. Yet the Italian firm has filed a patent for a new four-legged supercharged and electrified.

 Ferrari: soon a 4-cylinder electrified? # 1

Summary:

We must go back a long way in the history of Ferrari to find a model equipped with a mechanic not counting at least six cylinders (until the 50s, in this case). According to our colleagues at AutoGuide, however, Ferrari has recently filed a patent with the European Department of Trademarks and Patent on a four-cylinder engine operating unpublished. On the diagram that would have been filed by the Italian brand, we can see the presence of a turbo, driven by the exhaust and intended to animate an electric generator on one side and an electric compressor installed on the side of admission. There is also the presence of a valve output of the exhaust manifold, certainly intended to modulate the voice of the four cylinders to give it a more attractive tone. It remains to be seen for which model this unprecedented mechanical solution is intended. A future Ferrari "compact", walking in the footsteps of the Dino or rather for a model of another brand of the FCA group, such as Alfa Romeo or Maserati?
