Aged 18 to 23 years, and all from the Ain, the youth are prosecuted for "aggravated violence in meetings". They were unknown to justice. Two others arrested with them were put out of action.

Of the four concerned, three were placed under judicial control, the last should be incarcerated at the request of the prosecution.

As for the police officer, he was the subject of an investigation by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) for the use of his service weapon.

The Facts

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, in Cormaranche, a police officer posted to the Border Police (PAF) returned from his service around 1 am while a private party took place in the communal hall near his home.

Arrived at his house, the official hears noise and sees two men in his garden. He asks them to go out but they insult him and threaten him before being joined by a dozen other young aggressive and visibly alcoholic. He then takes his service weapon, goes out and "the situation degenerates completely", explains the prosecutor of Bourg-en-Bresse according to which the young people "did not necessarily know" the profession of this man.

In the fight, the police officer who said he was shot on the head, fired four times – "twice in the air, twice on the ground" to try to repel his attackers. The flash of a bullet slightly injured a young man at one calf. The police officer was given 31 days of ITT.
