Before the start of the Bayonne festivities, a short recap of the points you need to know to start the adventure serenely, which has gathered more than a million people in 2017.

The entry is paying

C ' is the novelty of 2018: from Friday, 10am, each non-Bayonne will pay 8 euros to participate in the festivities of Bayonne. The mayor advances security measures that plague the budget of the event and intends to divide the bill that was previously settled only by the Bayonne taxpayer. Equipped with a red bracelet, you will have the right to enter the city center for the last three days. Free admission remains for people who live or work in Bayonne (in the part of the city center dedicated). Socialist activist Joe Mendes had challenged the new paid entry system in court. His application for interim measures was rejected on 11 July.

Security at 1.2 million euros

There will be between 800 and 1000 police officers, gendarmes, and CRS mobilized on the Bayonne festivities from 12 departments. Soldiers of the Sentinel force will also patrol Bayonne and its surroundings. The level is the same as after the attack in Nice on July 14, 2016. And these measures have globally increased the holiday bill by about 500,000 euros.

Like last year, the access to the center- city will be closed, and the entry will be possible by 10 points of access (with systematic search and control of the bracelets) right bank of the Adour with the quarter Saint-Esprit, and left bank, in the Big and Petit Bayonne. Glbad bottles are prohibited inside the perimeter.
