The theory of a desert map in Season 5 is the one that comes up most often in recent days and more and more clues come to confirm it.
We are now used to it, data miners ( French data miners) are constantly on the lookout for new features in the Fortnite Battle Royale files in order to bring out clues as to what the developers are planning for the next few weeks.
So now it's a certainty, a major event will take place by Thursday and will significantly change things. Many theories and hypotheses try to guess what awaits us, but the one that seems to be imposing these last days foresees the arrival of a desert map.
This theory was consolidated by the discovery of the Durrr Burger in a desert Californian, but also by a new file unearthed in the files of the game. This one is called "Arid" (arid in French) and contains a series of files which would be elements of desert decoration.

Other files also provide that after the anchor of Greasy Grove, two new objects will be appearing on the map, an animal skeleton and wild west diligence.

So we must expect that in the coming days of new portals open and reveal these two new elements of scenery which are also clearly in the sense of a desert map.
Several possibilities are then envisaged: either the current map will be totally replaced by a desert map, either only part of the current map will become desert, a brand new map will appear
This last solution would seem the most logical. We can badume that a desert map exists somewhere and that the various faults have created a link with the current map. If this hypothesis is confirmed, we could find on the new map the elements of the current map that have been absorbed like the Durrr Burger or tomato of Tomato Town.
The anchor that appeared near Greasy Grove would come from this map where the same phenomenon occurred. This would also mean that the Visitor was there with the help of the rocket.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed for the moment by the developers of Epic Games. Note that a desert map already exists in Save the World. This is Morne-la-Vallée. A link between the two universes is thus always possible.
