Google Assistant is now available on your box!

Your Freebox Mini 4K is now equipped with Google Assistant! A few days after its deployment on Bouygues Telecom's Bbox 4Ks, the intelligent badistant, already integrated with Android smartphones and Google Home speakers, unloads the boxes of Free.

On July 10, Google Assistant unloaded on all Android TV, TV and box devices from Android Marshmallow. Shortly after, Bouygues Telecom deployed Google Assistant on its Bbox Mini 4K.

Freebox Mini 4K: Google Assistant arrives on your box!

This July 16, 2018, Google Assistant finally arrives on the Freebox Mini 4K . To enjoy it, you must have absolutely installed Android 7.1 Nougat on your Freebox. As a reminder, the update was deployed during the month of June. If you are not yet up to date, restart your box. This maneuver should automatically install Android 7.1 Nougat on the box. To chat with the Google Assistant, also make sure all your apps are up-to-date.

As with your Google Home or Android phone, you will now be able to give orders to the Google Assistant . You will be free to control your Freebox Mini 4K and your TV with your voice, but not only.

Not surprisingly, you can use the intelligent badistant to control your home automation system (connected lamps and others), ask for the weather, play music or video on Youtube or Spotify, put a timer, …

As Freenews points out, Google Assistant will also offer programs available in replay and you will obviously be able to launch Netflix (or another VOD service) on your TV with a simple voice command. As for the Bouygues Bbox, it is not necessary to say "Ok Google" to activate the wizard. You must however press the microphone key on your remote control.
