Apple has updated the iOS user manual by adding the new features of version 12.1. Two confirmations: with iOS 12.1 will come FaceTime group calls and dual SIM support for iPhone XS, XS Max and XR.

With the function FaceTime Groupyou can make audio and video calls with up to 32 participants. Initially, this feature was to be released last September with iOS 12, but Apple has decided to postpone it and launch the first tests with iOS 12.1 beta.

In the user guide, Apple confirms that bundled FaceTime calls will be limited to audio calls only on iPhone 5, 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but for subsequent models, video calls will be active. For tablets, the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad Air do not support this FaceTime feature.

The guide also mentions the dual SIM support that will finally be activated on iPhone XS, iPhone XR Max and iPhone XR. This new feature allows users to activate the e-SIM on their iPhone (which serves as the second SIM), in order to manage two different numbers. Recall that Apple sells its iPhone with two physical Sim drawers only in China.

iOS 12.1 should be available in final version on October 30, just after the keynote dedicated to the new iPad Pro and MacBook.
