"I'm 100% sure there will be another Schumacher in F1" in the person of Mick, the son of the legendary Michael, who became European Formula 3 champion last week, badured Lewis Hamilton Thursday.
"Thanks to his name first, but also because he does a great job," continued the Briton Mercedes, who can conquer this weekend at the US Grand Prix a fifth world title.
"If I have a child who wants to drive, I'm sure he can come in F1 thanks to his name even if he does not have the level," he said.
"But he (Mick) is working well and he's a good boy, he spent a few weekends with the team, last year I think, and he was very attentive," added the Englishman.
"He has talent, like his father, so I do not think his name is a burden, and that would be great for the sport," he thinks.
Spaniard Fernando Alonso, double F1 world champion, shares this view: "to see his results, he is talented and it would be good for the sport to review the name of Schumacher in F1".
"Let's see what the future will bring him, we should not put more pressure on him than he should already have," urged the McLaren driver.
His first international title will give the young Schumacher, born on March 22, 1999, precious points to obtain the "Super License", sesame essential to drive in F1.
Contractually, the young man is currently not linked to any stable in the queen category. He should be racing in Formula 2 next year.
